DeMarco Murray Suffered Ligament Damage To His Foot

Sources are saying that the Cowboys believe running back DeMarco Murray suffered ligament damage in his foot, but avoided a Lisfranc injury, according to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com.

“The X-rays taken at Baltimore from Sunday’s 31-29 loss to the Ravens were negative, but Murray is undergoing an MRI Monday morning and the results are not yet known,” wrote Archer.

It’s sounding as though this won’t be a season-ending injury for Murray, but it’s unknown at this point how much time he would miss. It’s worth noting that following the injury during Sunday’s game, Murray tried to return the game and was not in a walking boot following it. Felix Jones figures to take over in Murray’s absence. During yesterday’s game, Jones had 18 carries for 92 before missing time in the second half to get intravenous fluids due to cramping. This could be Jones’ last opportunity to prove he is an every-down back before he hits free agency after this season.
