Derek Carr Won’t Miss Time, Despite Left Arm Injury

Update:

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Raiders QB Derek Carr is sore from taking a number of sacks and hits during Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks, but his left arm injury won’t force him to miss the team’s next game.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that while Raiders QB Derek Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury, the belief is this isn’t a serious issue for him.

The Raiders are heading into their bye, which will buy Carr more time to get healthy and Rapoport says it’s possible he won’t miss any time based on the early word.

For what it’s worth, Jason La Canfora mentioned earlier in the day that a growing number of GMs suspect Raiders HC Jon Gruden may be open to entertaining trade offers for Carr in 2019, especially if they find themselves in position to draft a quarterback next year.

Carr, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2014. He is was in the final year of his contract when the Raiders signed him to a five-year, $125 million extension that included $70 million guaranteed last year.

Carr will make base salaries of $7.4 million and $19.9 million over the next two years of the agreement.

Entering today’s game, Carr had thrown for 1,641 yards while completing 71.4 percent to go along with seven touchdowns and eight interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding Carr as the news is available.
