Details Regarding Eagles’ Trade Offers To Buccaneers & Titans

Last night, Jay Glazer (per Peter Schrager) reported that Eagles and HC Chip Kelly offered the Buccaneers their No. 20 overall pick, their 2016 first-rounder, a quarterback and another veteran player for the No. 1 overall pick.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk confirmed that Philadelphia offered Tampa Bay their No. 20 overall pick, their 2016 first-rounder, QB Sam Bradford, and another player on the roster.

According to Florio, it’s unclear who the other player was, but he lists LB Mychal Kendricks, G Lane Johnson or DL Fletcher Cox as possibilities. Florio adds that the Eagles were reluctant to include either of those pieces.

While the Buccaneers field calls up until the start of the draft, all indications were that they weren’t going to move back and would instead take Jameis Winston at No. 1 overall.

As for the trade talks with the Titans, Kelly said that the asking price was just too steep.

“I didn’t think it was going to happen, and it didn’t happen,” Kelly said, via Reuben Frank of CSN Philly. “It was a really steep price.”

Albert Breer reports that the Titans communicated to the Eagles last night that they’d have to top the Robert Griffin III deal to get Marcus Mariota.

According to Breer, he got the sense that would have required the Eagles to part with an RGIII-like package of first-round picks and add a player like Cox to the deal.

Philadelphia reportedly discussed offering their first-round picks in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and a second-round pick, but that wasn’t close to be enough, per Breer.

It will be interesting to see if there are any issues with some of the team’s players regarding the fact that Kelly made them available for trade leading up to the draft.
