DeVante Parker’s Agent Issues Statement Calling Out Adam Gase For Parker Being Inactive

Jimmy Gould, the agent for Dolphins WR DeVante Parker, released a statement to Joe Schad explaining that his client is healthy and HC Adam Gase is not telling the truth about his status.

“I am responding that coach Gase is not telling the truth and his decision was an example of poor management and cost the team the best opportunity to win,” Gould said. “He continues attacking the health of my client and that is not acceptable. Parker is not only healthy but wants to help this team win and the only real question that should be asked is how does coach Gase justify his own incompetence. The team averaged only 6.1 yards per catch. They needed Parker active. He is completely healthy and was in full participation all week and in warmups this morning. Something smells in Miami.”

Parker has missed the majority of the year and has dealt with injuries, but it sounds like he’s healthy and ready to play at this point.

It’s worth mentioning that Parker has been the subject of trade rumors the past few months, so it’s possible Miami could be holding him out while they work on a trade.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported earlier that the Dolphins have spoken to multiple NFL teams about a trading Parker, including the Eagles.

A separate report mentioned that the Cowboys are monitoring him as a potential addition.

Yesterday, Tom Pelissero reported the Dolphins have told several teams who are interested in acquiring Parker that they will not trade him for anything less than a third-round draft pick.

Parker, 25, is a former first-round pick out of Louisville by the Dolphins in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of a four-year $ 10.876 million rookie contract and is set to earn a base salary of $1,918,164 in 2018.

The Dolphins picked up Parker’s fifth-year option this offseason that will cost them $9,387,000 for the 2019 season. It’s worth mentioning that the fifth-year option is only guaranteed for injury.

In 2018, Parker has been limited to appearing in just two games and catching two passes for 40 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding a potential trade involving Parker as the news is available.
