Devery Henderson Expected To Retire As A Saint

Free agent WR Devery Henderson tells Jacques Doucet that he will likely sign a one-day contract with the Saints and retire from the NFL.

Henderson, 32, played nine seasons for the Saints before signing on with the Redskins last June. However, he lasted just a few months with Washington before he was cut loose right before the season.

Henderson wound up sitting out the entire 2013 season and hasn’t found any reported interest this offseason, so it’s not all that surprising that retirement is being considered at this point.

If this were to be the end of his career, Henderson would finish with 235 receptions for 4,355 yards receiving and 20 touchdowns over the course of 123 games.
