Dez Bryant Considered Unlikely To Play In Week 5

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is considered unlikely to play in Week 5’s game against the Bengals.

  • Rapoport adds that Bryant is expected to test out his knee during Friday’s practice to see how it responds.

The Cowboys held Bryant out of last weekend’s game against the 49ers but it appears as though he may need at least one more week to be closer to 100 percent.

Previous reports have said that it’s possible Bryant’s hairline fracture could end up being a three-week injury, but we’ll have to see how he responds in the coming days.

Bryant, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2010. He’s currently in the second year of his five-year, $70 million contract that includes $45 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $9 million for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Bryant has caught 11 passes for 150 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Cowboys.

We’ll have more regarding Bryant’s injury as the news is available.
