Dolphins, 49ers & Vikings Also Among Interested Teams In CB K’Waun Williams

According to Michael Rothstein of ESPN, the Dolphins, 49ers and Vikings are also interested in possibility scheduling visits with free agent CB K’Waun Williams if he leaves his meetings with the Lions and Jets without signing a contract.

  • Joel A. Erickson reported yesterday that the Saints have “some interest” in Williams, but it appears as though other teams have more right now.

Williams visited with the Lions on Monday and is expected to meet with the Jets tomorrow.

Williams, 25, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh back in 2014. He was in the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million contract when the Browns cut him loose during the preseason as they trimmed their roster down to 75 players.

Williams was later claimed off of waivers by the Bears, but he failed a physical due to his ankle injury and was cut loose a day later.

Williams filed a grievance against the Browns for how things played out this summer.

In 2015, Williams appeared in 13 games and recorded 39 tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles, two recoveries and two pass defenses.
