Report: Dolphins “Active In Meetings” With Free Agent WRs At The Combine

Ben Volin of The Palm Beach Post reports that a “well-placed league source” has informed him that the Dolphins were “active in meetings” with potential free agents at this year’s NFL Combine.

Volin’s source added that GM Jeff Ireland was looking “pretty hard” at the wide receiver position in particular.

No specific players were named as targets for the Dolphins, but they’ve already been linked to free agents like Mike Wallace, Dwayne Bowe and Greg Jennings for months now.

Clearly, Miami is prepared to do whatever it takes to surround Ryan Tannehill with more talent. They should have a shot at landing Wallace, but it will ultimately come down to the amount of cash they’re willing to offer him. The Dolphins have had a tough time luring big names to Miami in recent years, so it will be interesting to see if that trend continues.

Here’s the full list of available 2013 NFL Free Agents.
