Dolphins Also Release OL Nate Garner, Free Up $1.65M In Cap Room

Update:

———

Drew Pittman, the agent for Dolphins OL Nate Garner, tells Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald that Miami is releasing his client.

According to Jackson, Garner is still dealing with ongoing issues related to concussions.

Garner was among the players on the Dolphins’ roster that was likely to be released so this isn’t a complete surprise.

Garner, 30, still had one year remaining on his three-year, $4.875 million contract that included $700,000 guaranteed. He would have made a base salary of $1.625 million for the 2015 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, this move will free up $1,650,000 in available cap space while creating $166,668 in dead money.

Last year, Garner appeared in 10 games for the Dolphins.
