Dolphins Begin Contract Discussions With RB Reggie Bush

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have “discussed a deal” with free agent RB Reggie Bush this last week.

Salguero mentions that although the Dolphins would like to retain Bush, they would only be willing to do so “at their price.” Salguero adds that Miami is “comfortable” moving forward with Lamar Miller as their lead back next season, which further suggests that Bush would have to be willing to offer them some sort of discount to remain in Miami.

Bush, 27, is coming off of one of the most productive years of his career. He’s dealt with a number of injuries in the past and there’s some question as to whether or not he’ll find a lot of interest on the open market.

NFL teams have been reluctant to spend money on free agent running backs and there’s also the belief that Bush isn’t a great fit as a featured running back.

The odds are against Bush being back with the Dolphins next year. The Bengals and Lions have been mentioned as potential suitors if he becomes available.

We have Bush listed as the No. 46 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
