Dolphins Could Bring Back Veteran OL Jermon Bushrod?

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the idea of re-signing veteran OL Jermon Bushrod has grown on the Dolphins.

Jackson adds that he spoke with an associate on Monday who mentioned that he was optimistic about a deal between the Dolphins and Bushrod.

The Dolphins converted Bushrod to right guard after played a number of years at left tackle for the Bears and Saints.

Bushrod, 32, is a former fourth-round pick of the Saints back in 2007. He spent six years in New Orleans before he departed in free agency for a five-year, $35.965 million contract that included $22.465 million guaranteed with the Bears. Unfortunately, Bushrod lasted just three seasons in Chicago before he was released in February of last year.

The Dolphins signed him to a one-year contract and he’s currently testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Bushrod appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 69 overall guard out of 71 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Bushrod as the news is available
