Dolphins Designate DT Earl Mitchell As Player To Return From I.R.

Ian Rapoport reports that the Dolphins officially designated DL Earl Mitchell as their player to return from Injured Reserve on Tuesday.

Miami placed Mithcell on injured reserve a few weeks into the regular season with a calf injury but reports mentioned that he could be a candidate to return, so this doesn’t come as a huge surprise.

Mitchell, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Texans back in 2010. He spent four years in Houston before signing a four-year, $19 million contract that included $8 million guaranteed with the Dolphins.

Mitchell stands to make a base salary of $3.975 million for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Mitchell has appeared in one game and recorded one tackle for the Dolphins.
