Dolphins Designate OT Eric Smith To Return From Injured Reserve

The Miami Dolphins officially designated OT Eric Smith to return from injured reserve.

This officially opens a three-week window of time for the Dolphins to add him to their active roster or he’ll spend the duration of the 2017 season on injured reserve.

Smith, 22, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia back in May. He stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract.

The Dolphins placed him on injured reserve coming out of the preseason with a knee injury.
