Dolphins Discussing A Contract Extension With WR Brian Hartline?

Peter King reports that the Dolphins have not opened contract talks with WR Brian Hartline, despite the previous reports that have suggested as much.

King adds that the Dolphins could still end up approaching Hartline at a later point in the season.

Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports league sources have mentioned that the Dolphins and WR Brian Hartline have already begun preliminary contract discussions.

Hartline, 25, has been incredible to start the 2012 season, and what’s really impressive is the fact that the Dolphins do not have another receiving weapon as dangerous as he is. It seems like teams would blanket him and force Ryan Tannehill to look elsewhere.

This probably the right decision for the Dolphins, as they will need some better offensive weapons in the year’s to come. Hartline’s asking price has almost certainly increased since the season began, but I’m sure it’s still not astronomical.
