Dolphins Doing “A Lot Of Research” On Georgia RB Todd Gurley

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins have been doing a “lot of research” regarding Georgia RB Todd Gurley in recent weeks.

  • According to Jackson, the Dolphins are “unquestionably intrigued” by Gurley.

Gurley is among the draft prospects in Indianapolis this weekend for medical rechecks, which makes sense given that he’s coming off of a torn ACL.

The Dolphins have been linked to receivers and cornerbacks in round one, but depending on what happens with Michigan State’s Trae Waynes and the top-three receiver prospects, there’s a chance they could consider taking a running back.

Many draft experts view Gurley as the most talented running back in this year’s draft class, but the injury concerns have opened the door for Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon to possibly be the first running back to come off the board.

Last year, Gurley was suspended for four games after it was found that he accepted money for autographs. Upon returning to Georgia, Gurley unfortunately sustained the season-ending knee injury.

Gurley finished his college career with 3,285 rushing yards on 510 carries (6.4 YPC) to go along with 65 receptions for 615 yards receiving and 42 total touchdowns. He also contributed two kick return touchdowns as well.
