Dolphins DT Randy Starks Signs His Franchise Tender

Dolphins DT Randy Starks signed his franchise tender on Tuesday, according to Ian Rapoport.

Starks will receive a one-year contract worth $8.3 million for the upcoming season. We’ll have to see if the Dolphins try to lock him up to a long-term extension at some point in the coming months.

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Dolphins have indeed franchise tagged DT Randy Starks.

Starks, 29, will receive a one-year guaranteed contract of $8.45 million. We had Starks listed as the No. 16 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Jason La Canfora reports that league sources have informed him that the Miami Dolphins are expected to franchise DT Randy Starks at some point today.

La Canfora adds that Miami is trying to negotiate contracts with their other impending free agents like OT Jake Long, RB Reggie Bush, WR Brian Hartline and CB Sean Smith, but they’re unlikely to use the tag on these players.
