Dolphins Expected To Franchise OT Jake Long?

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald writes that the Dolphins LT Jake Long is expected to be the top candidate to receive the team’s franchise tag.

Long has been regarded as one of the top players at his position since being drafted, but he’s been struggling to regain his Pro Bowl form. Despite his struggles Long is on his way to make his 5th consecutive Pro-Bowl since being drafted.

Long will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, so the team will have to decide whether or not he’s worthy of a long-term contract or even their franchise tag that could cost them close to $15 million next season.

We have Long listed as the No. 7 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
