Dolphins Eyeing 2020 QB Prospects As Part Of Rebuilding Plan

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Dolphins are planning to rebuild in 2019 and put themselves in position to draft one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2020 class, which will include Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and Oregon’s Justin Herbert.

According to Schefter, Miami plans to focus on player development and building the trenches next season, which could leave them in position to get one of the top quarterback prospects next year.

Sources have told Schefter that the Dolphins realize that “losing likely will be a part of next season, and it will take some time to build the roster to where they want it to be.”

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross eluded to the fact that the team could be in for a rough 2019 season, as they look to rebuild the team under GM Chris Grier and a new head coach, which will reportedly be Patriots LBs coach Brian Flores.

It will be interesting to see how much roster turnover there will be in Miami this offseason, as a number of notable players could be playing elsewhere including QB Ryan Tannehill, WR DeVante Parker, DE Cameron Wake, and DE Robert Quinn among others.

We’ll have more regarding the Dolphins as the news is available.
