Dolphins Haven’t Ruled Out Re-Signing TE Dustin Keller

Dolphins HC Joe Philbin told reporters on Tuesday that they haven’t ruled out the possibility of re-signing veteran TE Dustin Keller.

He’s one of those guys we’re evaluating and considering like a lot of other free agents out there,” Philbin said, via the Miami Herald. “We’ll see.”

Miami signed Keller to a one-year, $4.25 million contract after he didn’t fair as well as he was hoping in the free agent market last year. Unfortunately for Keller, he suffered a horrible knee injury that included tears to his ACL, MCL, and PCL, while also dislocating his knee.

There are obvious concerns about him moving forward, but he still only 29 years old and his rehab is reportedly on track for the 2014 season.

We’ll have to see what the Dolphins elect to do at tight end given that there aren’t very many options available at this point in time.
