Dolphins Impending Free Agent RG Jermon Bushrod Wants To Continue Playing If Money Is Right

Dolphins RG Jermon Bushrod said he would like to continue his playing career in 2017 if he receives a suitable contract offer this offseason, according to Adam Beasley.

Last month, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald said that Miami is expected to move on from Bushrod, so it appears his days with the Dolphins could be over.

The Dolphins converted him to right guard after performing as a left tackle previously in his career with the Bears and Saints. Unfortunately, his transition did not appear to go as well as desired.

Bushrod, 32, finished a one-year, $1,500,000 contract that included a $100,000 signing bonus with the Dolphins.

The Bears released him last offseason in a move that freed up $4.3 million in available cap space. He was entering the fourth year of his five-year, $35.965 million contract that included $22.465 million guaranteed.

In 2016, Bushrod appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 69 overall guard out of 71 qualifying players.
