Dolphins In Contract Talk With Key Players- Long, Wake, and Hartline

Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel reports that the Dolphins have begun contract talks with three key players entering the final year of their contracts, OT Jake Long, LB Cameron Wake, and WR Brian Hartline.

Restructuring Long’s deal could prove difficult as he is looking to be the highest paid offensive lineman, surpassing Cleveland Brown’s tackle Joe Tomas who is guaranteed $30 million.

Cameron Wake has proved to be a formidable starting line backer, but is one of the most underpaid at his position, projected to earn $615,000 in base salary this season.

Other notable players whose contracts expire after this season are also waiting in the wings for a potential extension, including RB Reggie Bush, DE Randy Starks, and TE Anthony Fasano.
