Dolphins Have No Intention Of Trading Mike Pouncey

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald writes that, despite some recent speculation that Miami could look to trade C Mike Pouncey following the release of the Ted Wells report, the Dolphins have no intention of fielding trade offers for their Pro Bowl center.

Salguero does, however, mention that Pouncey is likely in trouble for his involvement in the bullying issues that caused Jonathan Martin to leave the team mid-season. Salguero adds that Pouncey could be facing a suspension given that he appeared to offer inaccurate information to investigators and avoided other questioning.

Pouncey, 24, is entering the final year of his contract and there has been some speculation that the Dolphins could actually enter the 2014 season with an entirely new starting offensive line. There are a number of things to watch here such as: the length of his suspension — if he even receives, his performance next season, and whether or not the Dolphins are willing to approach him regarding an extension at some point before he’s a free agent.

Pro Football Focus has Pouncey rated as the No. 13 center in the league last season.
