Dolphins Interested In Re-Signing TE Charles Clay

Barry Jackson of the Miami HeraldĀ reports that the Dolphins have “privately indicated” that they would like to re-sign impending free agent TE Charles Clay.

  • According to Jackson, Clay is expected to receive an offer from the Dolphins in the next few weeks.
  • Miami reportedlyĀ feel good about their tight end situation with Clay and Dion Sims.

Clay would be aĀ very intriguing free agent, even though there could be some more notable tight ends available like Julius Thomas and Jordan Cameron.

Clay, 25, has played out his four-year, $2.152Ā million rookieĀ contract and is set to be an unrestricted free agent this March.

In 2014, Clay caught 58 passes for 605 yards receiving and three touchdowns over the course of 14 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 14 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.

We have Clay listed as the No. 34 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
