Dolphins Interested In Keeping DT Randy Starks, But Haven’t Made Him An Offer

Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald reports that the although the Miami Dolphins have yet to make an offer to free agent DT Randy Starks, they are still interested in re-signing at some point.

  • According to Jackson, Miami has conveyed that are fine with Starks reaching the free agent market while keeping them aware of the offers he receives from prospective teams.
  • Jackson adds that the Dolphins haven’t ruled out the possibility of extending him an offer in the coming weeks.

Miami still needs to decide what to do with DT Paul Soliai who is reportedly generating some decent interest as well.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported earlier today that five NFL teams have interest in Soliai with two of them being “quite serious” about signing him to a long-term contract.

Starks, 30, is in a great position to cash in on the open market one year after he received the Dolphins franchise tag. He’s coming off of a solid season in which he totaled 49 tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble this season and was rated as the No. 7 defensive tackle in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.

We have both players listed in our Top 50 Free Agent list.
