Dolphins Hire Clyde Christensen As Offensive Coordinator

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins are hiring Clyde Christensen as their new offensive coordinator.

Christensen, 59, began his coaching career as the tight ends coach for the Buccaneers back in 1996. After five years with Tampa Bay, Christensen was hired by the Colts as their receivers coach and managed to work his way up to offensive coordinator before moving to quarterbacks coach in 2012.

The Dolphins reportedly met with former Chargers OC Frank Reich regarding the position as well.

New Dolphins HC Adam Gase is moving slower than expected in filling out his coaching staff, but it seems like there should be some additions announced in the coming days.

The Chargers elected to fire Reich and bring back Ken Whisenhunt to run their offense after a disappointing 2015 season.

Last year, Reich actually found interest as a head-coaching candidate, but the results from this past season were underwhelming in terms of their rushing attack and points-per game.

In 2105, the Chargers ranked No. 9 in total yards, No. 4 in passing yards, No. 31 in rushing and No. 26 in points-per-game under Reich.
