Dolphins & Jarvis Landry’s Agent To Meet At Combine, Belief Is MIA Wants To Trade Him

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Dolphins will meet with theĀ agent for franchise WR Jarvis Landry on Wednesday at the Scouting Combine to discuss his future.

Multiple sources have told Schefter that they believe the Dolphins are interested in trading Landry.

A number of reports have said over the past week that the Dolphins could still try to Landry in the coming weeks, despite using their franchise tag on him last Tuesday.

Ian RapoportĀ mentioned a few days ago some teams to watch for a potential trade involving Landry could include the Titans, Panthers, Saints, and Bears.

As for a potential long-term extension, Rapoport mentions that it’s more likely Landry would either play out the year under the franchise tag or be traded.

Landry could complicate matters further simply by refusing to sign a long-term deal, considering that he now stands to make $16 million fully guaranteed for the 2018 season before once again being in position to test free agency in 2019.

Of course, a team could always franchise him for a second time, but that would come with a 20 percent increase above the $16 million he’ll make this year.

Landry, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2014. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $3.5 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $893,852 for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Landry has appeared in 16Ā  games and caught 112 passes for 987 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. He has also contributed 81 kick return yards. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 19 receiver out of 119 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Landry as the news is available.
