Dolphins LB Jelani Jenkins Had Clean Up Procedure On His Knee

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that Dolphins LB Jelani Jenkins recently underwent a “clean up procedure” on his knee.

Beyond that, DE Terrence Fede is dealing with a sprained MCL, according to Jackson.

The Dolphins’ defense is dealing with a number of injuries right now, so this is hardly the kind of news they want to hear.

Miami has Jenkins listed as their starting weakside linebacker on their latest depth chart.

Jenkins, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2013. He’s currently in the final year of his our-year, $2.632 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Jenkins appeared in 13 games for the Dolphins and recorded 71 tackles, a forced fumble, a recovery and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 39 linebacker out of 97 qualifying players.
