Dolphins No Longer Pursuing Jeff Fisher?

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Miami Dolphins are shifting their focus to other head coaching options now that it appears that he’s settled on the St Louis Rams job.

Glazer mentions that Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey, Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, and Packers offensive coorinator Joe Philbin will be in consideration for the Dolphins job.

The Dolphins reportedly offered more money than any other team but Fisher was believed to be looking for a team with a quarterback of the future in place which is something that the Rams could offer. Glazer tweeted earlier that Fisher is meeting with Sam Bradford and some of the players this afternoon.

Miami could end up with a pretty good coaching prospect now that Fisher appears to be done with the Dolphins. It rarely pays off to land a coach with a big name but bringing someone with a lot to prove can turn into a great situation or a busted team. It’s seems like a better gamble for the team.
