Dolphins Not An Option For Peyton Manning?

Peter King  of SI.com mentions that he doesn’t see the Miami Dolphins as the best fit for Peyton Manning considering that Joe Philbin was hired as the head coach.

As one GM told me today,” tweets King, “the problem with Peyton to Miami is coach Joe Philbin wants to control his team and his offense — not cede it to Manning.”

This is at the very least, an interesting point from King. If this is actually a consideration for teams that may be interested in Manning, you would have to think that the Cardinals and Redskins would make the most sense given that Mike Shanahan and Ken Whisenhunt both made Super Bowl runs with veteran quarterbacks. Seattle remains the wildcard but earlier reports mentioned that it’s a long shot at this point.
