Now that the Miami Dolphins have Joe Philbin in place as their next head coach, the attention swings to soon-to-be free agent QB Matt Flynn.

The connection here is simple. Miami needs a quarterback and it just so happens that Philbin coached one of best available options while in Green Bay.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald writes do have interest in Flynn but added that they’re not assuming that he’ll sign with the team simple because they brought in his former offensive coordinator to be their head coach.

There will be a number of teams interest in Flynn if the Packers choose not to franchise him. Already we’ve heard that the Redskins and Browns have interest and the Seahawks could also check in on him at some point. Having Philbin in place certainly will not hurt Miami’s chances but it’s by no means a foregone conclusion.
