Dolphins Place DE William Hayes On Injured Reserve

The Miami Dolphins announced Tuesday that they’ve placed DE William Hayes on injured reserve.

Hayes, 31, is a former fourth-round pick of the Titans back in 2008. He spent four years in Tennessee before signing on with the Rams in 2012.

The Rams traded Hayes and seventh-round pick to the Dolphins this past March for a sixth-round pick.

Hayes is in the second year of his three-year, $21 million contract that includes $10 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $3.5 million for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Hayes appeared in 10 games for the Dolphins and recorded 19 tackles and a sack. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 15 edge rusher out of 112 qualifying players.
