Dolphins Placing TE Jordan Cameron On I.R., Career In Jeopardy?

According to Armando Salguero, the Dolphins are placing TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) on the injured reserve on Saturday.

Salguero adds that Cameron’s time with Miami is essentially over, given his contract is set to expire after this season. Furthermore, there is “serious doubt” about his future in the NFL.

Salguero reports that Cameron has expressed concerns about his long-term health to people that are close to him, suggesting that he could be considering retirement.

Cameron also visited a specialist regarding his concussion, and although he was told he is making progress, it was decided that he would not be completely recovered from his injury for “some time.

It is worth mentioning that this is his fourth concussion in as many seasons.

Cameron, 28, is originally a fourth-round pick by the Browns in the 2011 NFL Draft. He is in the final year of a two-year, $15 million contract that contained $12.5 million guaranteed and a $4 million signing bonus. He spent four years in Cleveland before signing with the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Cameron has appeared in three games and recorded eight receptions for 60 yards receiving and one touchdown.
