Dolphins Prepared To Target Matt Flynn If They Miss Out On Manning

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that Dolphins will turn their attention to Packers QB Matt Flynn if they end up losing out on Peyton Manning in the coming days.

Jackson does mention that some with the organization aren’t sold that Flynn can be an “elite quarterback” but that shouldn’t stop him from getting a sizable contract from someone.

The obvious connection here is to new Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin who worked as Flynn’s for years as his offensive coordinator while in Green Bay. Some felt that Dolphins could go after Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill because of his link to Mike Sherman but that will most likely be decided by what happens with Flynn.

We have Flynn listed as the #21 best available free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
