Dolphins Promote TE Thomas Duarte, Activate LB Zach Vigil From NFI List

According to Armando Salguero, the Dolphins are promoting TE Thomas Duarte from their practice squad and activated LB Zach Vigil from the non-football-injury list.

The Dolphins had two roster spots to fill after they placed TE Jordan Cameron on injured reserve earlier in the day.

Duarte, 21, was a seventh-round pick by the Dolphins in this year’s NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $2.41 million rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $450,000 this year but was unfortunately cut loose coming out of the preseason.

The Dolphins later signed him to their practice squad a day later.

During his three-year college career at UCLA, Duarte recorded 97 receptions for 1,626 yards and 17 touchdowns.
