Dolphins QB David Garrard Likely To Have Surgery On His Knee

Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times tweets that Dolphins QB David Garrard will have a knee surgery and will end up missing some time.

Garrard mentioned that he won’t necessarily have surgery right away.

“I’m going to sit back a couple of days and study my situation.” Garrard said, “I’m going to take a wait-and-see position. I’ll be alright, though.”

Several reports have indicated that this will likely be a simple procedure for Garrard, but others have said he could be out for a “while.” The Dolphins are now potentially looking at Matt Moore or rookie Ryan Tannehill as their next starter, depending on how long Garrard is out. Miami’s preseason opener on Friday night will likely include a committee between Moore, Tannehill and Pat Devlin.
