Dolphins OC Mike Sherman confirmed that RB Daniel Thomas is in fact out for the season with an ankle injury, per Andrew Abramson.

According to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Dolphins RB Daniel Thomas is likely done for the remainder of the 2013 season.

Thomas left Sunday’s game after his legs unfortunately were bent underneath him. Following the game, Thomas was seen on crutches and sporting a walking boot, so it’s pretty clear that this wasn’t a typical ankle sprain.

Should Thomas in fact be out for the rest of the season, Lamar Miller should see a large role in the team’s offense. Dolphins also have rookie RB Mike Gillislee on their roster as well, but it’s hard to speculate as to what his role will be at this point in time.
