Dolphins Re-Signing QB Matt Moore To A Two-Year, $3.5M Deal

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins are re-signing backup QB Matt Moore.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Moore receives a two-year, $3.5 million deal from the Dolphins.
  • Moore’s agent said of the decision: “He likes Miami; he and Ryan get along great.” (Barry Jackson)

It’s worth mentioning that the Dolphins did meet with Brandon Weeden last week about the backup job.

Moore “visited” with the Dolphins on Tuesday, but the team announced that he left without a deal. However, it appears as though they were close enough to agreement to get something done later in the day.

Moore also traveled to Dallas to meet with the Cowboys.

Moore, 31, wound up signing on with Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State back in 2007. He spent three years with the Panthers before departing for an opportunity with the Dolphins.

He’s spent the past four years backing up Ryan Tannehill and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Moore appeared in just one game and completed a single pass for 14 yards and no touchdowns.
