The Miami Dolphins have re-signed RB LaMichael James, according to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald.

James, 25, was taken in the second-round of the 2012 draft, but was unable to carve out a role with the 49ers. San Francisco placed him on waivers in September of last year and he later caught on with the Dolphins by signing to their practice squad.

In 2014, James appeared in just three games and ran for nine yards on five carries (1.8 YPC) while playing a total of nine snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
