Dolphins Release OT Jason Fox

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Miami Dolphins released OT Jason Fox on Monday.

The Dolphins will need to make a number of roster moves in order for them to address roster needs and some notable free agents like Olivier Vernon and Lamar Miller, so you can expect to see even more moves from them in the coming days.

Fox, 27, was entering the final year of his two-year, $2.5 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $1,280,000 for the 2016 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Fox will free up $1,380,000 in available cap space while creating $162,500 in dead money.

In 2015, Fox appeared in 15 games for the Dolphins and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 74 offensive tackle out of 76 qualifying players.

  1. Wow I can’t believe it? Where that come from, letting go of Jason Fox a future HOF? Now Tannehill might have more time to throw the ball, why do that ? Now passing on the bum of Evan Mathis that won the Super Bowl that I can understand and third string backup center Sam Brenner getting a ring where Pouncey might never get one that I also understand.
Next you are going to tell me they we will draft a guard and a Linebacker in the early rounds when we have perennial all-pro like Sheppard, Thomas and Turner. I hate when a team breaks tradition, madness!
