Dolphins Release Veteran C Kraig Urbik With Settlement

The Miami Dolphins Dolphins officially released veteran C Kraig Urbik with an injury settlement on Saturday.

Urbik, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2009. He lasted just over a year in Pittsburgh before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Bills.

Urbik was entering the final year of his five-year, $14.6 million contract when he was released in a move that freed up $1,775 million in available cap space for the Bills.The Dolphins signed him to a contract back in March of last year.

Urbik was set to make a base salary of $1.25 million for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Urbik appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and was rated by Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 36 center guard out of 39 qualifying players.
