Dolphins Release WR Brian Hartline, Free Up $3.15M In Cap Space

The Miami Dolphins have released veteran WR Brian Hartline, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

Hartline, 28, still had another three years remaining on his five-year, $30.775 million contract that included $12.5 million guaranteed. He had base salaries of  $5.9 million (2015) and $6.1 million in years 2016 and 2017.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Hartline will free up $3.15 million available cap space while creating $4.2 million in dead money.

In 2014, Hartline appeared in all 16 games and caught 39 passes for 474 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus rated Hartline as the No. 103 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.
