Dolphins S Reshad Jones Feared To Have Torn His Rotator Cuff, Could Be Out For Season

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Dolphins fear Pro Bowl S Reshad Jones tore his rotator cuff and could be out for the remainder of the season.

  • Rapoport adds that Jones is undergoing further tests right now determine the severity of the injury.

Jones had already been dealing with a groin but losing him for any period of time would be a huge blow to the Dolphins’ defense.

Jones, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2010. He’s currently in the fourth year of his five-year, $30.81 million contract that includes $15 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $7.225 million for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Jones has appeared in six games for the Dolphins and recorded 51 tackles, one interception, a half sack and four pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 3 safety out of 86 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Jones’ injury and timetable as the news is available.
