Dolphins Sign OL Jacques McClendon, Waive LB James-Michael Johnson

The Miami Dolphins announced Tuesday that they’ve signed OL Jacques McClendon to a contract and placed LB James-Michael Johnson on waivers.

Johnson, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Browns back in 2012. He has one year remaining on his four-year, $2.52 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season.

He spent one year in Cleveland before he was cut and later claimed off of waivers by the Chiefs. Since then, Johnson has played for the Buccaneers, Bengals, Chiefs, Jaguars and Lions.

The Dolphins signed him a few weeks ago.

Johnson has appeared in four games this season, but has yet to record a single tackle.

McClendon, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Colts back in 2010. He has played for a number of teams since entering the NFL including the Lions, Steelers, Falcons, and Jaguars.

In 2014, McClendon appeared in 12 games for the Jaguars and played a total of 211 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
