Dolphins Sign S Phillip Thomas & RB Demitrius Bronson, Cut Two

The Miami Dolphins announced the signing of RB Demitrius Bronson and S Phillip Thomas on Monday.

  • The team also waived/injured Shamiel Gray and cut Tyler McDonald.

Thomas, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2013. He was waived by the Redskins less than a week ago in a move that cleared $510,000 in cap space for Washington.

In 2014, Thomas appeared in eight games and recorded 27 tackles and fumble recovery. He previously missed the entire 2013 season after he sustained a broken foot.

Bronson, 25, signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington back in June. Seattle wound up cutting him as they worked to get down to 75 players last year.

The Seahawks later signed him to a future/reserve contract in February, but wound up waiving him just a few weeks ago.

During his four-year college career, Bronson ran for 689 yards on 197 carries (3.5 YPC) while contributing eight receptions for 51 yards receiving and 14 totals touchdowns.
