Gray, 27, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota back in 2013. He had brief stints with the Browns and Vikings before he was claimed off of waivers by the Bills in 2014.

After two years in Buffalo, Gray signed a one-year contract worth $675,000 with the Dolphins. He would have been an unrestricted free agent in the coming months.

In 2016, Gray has appeared in 15 games and caught 14 passes for 174 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Dolphins. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 tight end out of 64 qualifying players.
