Dolphins Sign Three Draft Picks

The Miami Dolphins announced Wednesday that they’ve signed three draft picks to rookie deals including third-round LB Jerome Baker, fourth-round TE Durham Smythe and fourth-round RB Kalen Ballage.

This leaves second-round TE Mike Gesicki as the last remaining draft pick for Miami to sign.

Ballage was selected with the No. 131 overall pick by the Dolphins in the fourth round of this year’s draft. According to OverTheCap.com, he receives a four-year, $3,049,180 contract that includes a $589,180 signing bonus.

During his four-year college career at Arizona State, Ballage recorded 450 rushing attempts for 1,984 yards (4.4 YPC) and 27 touchdowns to go along with 82 receptions for 684 yards receiving (8.3 YPC) and two touchdowns.

Baker, 21, was selected with the No. 73 overall pick by the Dolphins in the third round of this year’s draft. According to OverTheCap.com, he receives a four-year, $3,435,200 contract that includes a $975,200 signing bonus.

During his three-year college career at Ohio State, Baker recorded 159 total tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two interceptions, four pass defenses, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, and scored two defensive touchdowns.

Smythe was selected with the No. 123 overall pick by the Dolphins in the fourth round of this year’s draft. According to OverTheCap.com, he receives a four-year, $3,092,200 contract that includes a $632,232 signing bonus.

During his four-year college career at Notre Dame, Smythe recorded 28 receptions for 381 yards (13.6 YPC) and six touchdowns.
