Dolphins Sign WR Mitch Mathews

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins have signed WR Mitch Mathews to a contract on Thursday.

Mathews, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of BYU. He was set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season, but was unfortunately waived in the final week of the preseason.

The Browns later signed him to their practice squad back but cut him loose a few weeks later. Minnesota signed him to a contract this past March, but he was waived just a few weeks ago.

During his college career, he caught 152 passes for 2,083 yards (13.7 YPR) and 24 touchdowns over the course of 41 games.
