Dolphins Signing DE Andre Branch To A One-Year, $3M Deal That’s Fully GTD

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, citing a league source, reports that the Dolphins have reached an agreement on a one-year deal with DE Andre Branch.

  • According to Ian Rapoport, Branch receives a one-year contract worth $3 million fully guaranteed.

Branch met with the Redskins a few days ago before taking a second visit to Miami this week.

The Dolphins have reportedly been in the market for a third pass rusher to go along with Cameron Wake and Mario Williams, and it appears as though they found him.

Branch, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2012. He has played out his rookie contract and was testing the open market for the first time.

In 2015, Branch appeared in 13 games for the Jaguars and recorded 24 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, one recovery returned for a touchdown and four pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 76 edge rusher out of 110 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
