Dolphins Signing TE Ryan Taylor

Alex Marvez of FOX Sports is reporting that the Dolphins are signing veteran TE Ryan Taylor to a contract.

  • Marvez mentions that Taylor has a “legit chance” of making the Dolphins 53-man roster next year.

Dolphins HC Joe Philbin is familiar with Taylor from their time together in Green Bay.

Taylor, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Packers back in 2011 out of North Carolina. He spent the first three years of his career with the Packers before he was waived in October of last year.

The Ravens later claimed him off of waivers, but he only lasted a few weeks with Baltimore before he was once again released.

The Browns also took a chance on Taylor, claiming off waivers from the Ravens, although they too waived after just a few months.

Taylor has been a regular special-teams contributor since entering the NFL. He appeared in 13 games this season, but never caught a single pass.
