Dolphins In Talks To Re-Sign OT Sam Young

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins have been in talks with the agent for free agent OT Sam Young about re-signing him to a new contract.

According to Salguero, the two sides don’t have an agreement in place, but the Dolphins would like to bring Young back as their No. 3 offensive tackle.

Young, 30, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2010. He lasted just one year with Dallas before being claimed off of waivers by the Bills.

The Jaguars later claimed Young off of waivers from the Bills during the 2013 season before bringing him back on a two-year contract. Young signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins back in 2015 before agreeing to a one-year extension towards the end of the 2015 season.

In 2017, Young appeared in 10 games for the Dolphins and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 48 offensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
